Residency Program Profiles

(Available by Download only)

The Program Directors of each specialty were surveyed about their specialty. This information is unedited and fairly subjective. It tells the real story about each specialty.

In this section, you'll find the strengths, workload and research expectations of each specialty. The Program Directors also provide insightful medical student tips that you might find useful. In 2011, Program Directors across Canada were surveyed to submit a new Program Profile or update the existing Program Profile. If no response was received, it was assumed no changes were necessary.

Over 20 new Program Profiles and 60 updated profiles were incorporated into the edition.

This section provides nationwide program profiles for each of the following specialties:

Anesthesiology Neurosurgery
Cardiac Surgery Nuclear Medicine
Community Medicine Obstetrics and Gynecology

Diagnostic Radiology Orthopedic Surgery
Emergency Medicine Otolaryngology
Family Medicine Pediatrics
Rural Family Medicine Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation
